Sure. She might be the designated driver. Many wineries also have a good collection of art and sculpture to look at if she’s into that. Their gift shops have more than just wine items too, for a little shopping. And if it’s an event, chances are there will be live music. And the guided tours of the caves are always interesting to learn more about the history of the winery and the wine-making process.

What would she do there? Unless she was going with someone else. And it would still be boring.

Yes lot of people go just to socialize. Me I go just to sample all the wines even though im a beer guy.

I have been to several wine tastings and even wine dinners where there have been people that do not drink. They were there to socialize with friends.

She is probably going with someone else (friend, boyfriend, etc). It’s a nice atmosphere to socialize and relax and just an all around fun activity.
If she isn’t going with someone else, the only reason I can think of for her to be going is to learn about wines. Possibly she’s throwing a party and wants to know what’s out there, or has some other reason to want to know about wines without actually tasting them herself.

Hi Donald, this is quite common.
On a real wine tasting event, you dont drink the wine – you just taste it and spit it out again.
