Take the Wine and Dinner Train Tour out of Napa. It serves dinner, a bit of wine and tasting, and they have tasting and winery tours also, where the train stops and you get off and tour the wineries and the train picks you up on the way back to Napa. Overall, the round trip train ride is about 4-5 hours long. Very ornate decor in the antique train cars. Diner car, desert and observation car, and First Class service and foods. Excellent for a romantic getaway.

We stayed at the Napa River Inn. It was super romantic which was funny because I was with my sister
but it sounds like your companion is better for the hotel.
- Sonoma seems like a better town. I’ve never stayed there. Napa is less expensive.
As for winery, talk to your hotel about arranging a wine tasting tour (you don’t want to be driving). Tell them what you are interested in and they will set it up for you.
- Review the different types of tours available. I had friends who have did a bike tour and loved it. So you might want to schedule a few different events (limo, bike, the wine train, whatever).
- Also make sure you hit a Olive farm and a lavender farm!!
